Mireuksan
Mireuksan(689m) at the border of Southern Wonju and Sotae-myeon, Chungju-si reminds people of a piece of oriental painting with its strange rocks and old pine trees. Mireuksan is famous for its Maitreya image inscribed on the rock. 12 beautiful peaks create unique scenary and old pine trees between rocks adds up the uniqueness. Old pine tree and snow flower on rocks during winter season is magnificent.

The mountain is not that high, but its soft curved route and narrow routes are in harmony which charms climber.
When looking toward Northeastern view from the top, Shinsundae, there is Baekunsan and Chiaksan, while there's Sipjabong peak at the East and Namhangang river stream at Southwestern direction. Under the Shinsundae, pass through Maitryea Buddhist image, and walk by Eastern ridge for 20 minutes and there's Huangsansa temple. It is an ancient temple built during King Gyungsun of Silla.
