It is located at the side of Yanganchi hill road 20kms from Wonju toward Chungju. When curving around Yanganchi hill, the gate to Chungju from Wonju, and go down the no.19 road about 500m from Guiraemyeon located at the South of Baekunsan, there's Cheoneunsa valley. It is now called Cheoneunsa valley but it was called Myeongjugul cave 30 years ago.
It was the very Myeongjugul cave where people from 20 households under the valley lived together and came to pray for no rain. The name comes from the pond fits a bunch of Myeongju thread, but now the pond is gone after developing the valley. When climbing the valley, it is great to enjoy green shower with dense pine tree and other trees with the stream.
500ms from entrance to Cheoneunsa temple are wide rocks and clean water, so it is good for families to enjoy the nature. Also, the trail is quiet well organized.
