Guryongsa valley of Chiaksan(1,288m) with its famous pheasant legend has very impressive stream of water. Guryong valley is deep, plain and surrounded by dense wood, so the stream is quiet large and clear. With its magnificent view, it has beautiful legend of Guryong water fall and master Uisang. The story tells the history of construction of Guryongsa temple, and also the pheasant that repaid kindness is still legend of Chiaksan.
Away from the parking lot, it takes 2~3 minutes from Guryong bridge to entrance of temple. The trail has beautiful scenary and the section between Guryong waterfall to Seonnyeotang Saeryeom waterfall has fresh scenary. However, the valley is quiet long, so one must consider returning route before taking a spot for resting. It takes 10 minutes from Saemal IC of Youngdong high way, which is 6.5km.
It is a large mountain with deep valley, it is easy to access from highway. The clean air of Guryong valley is so fresh that it will take away the tiredness of riding down the highway.
