Introduction
As the increase in street stalls in downtown Wonju caused many problems such as serious inconveniences to pedestrians, traffic congestion and disrupted commercial order, Wonju City relocated these street stalls to the current market site in December 1989 to guarantee the livelihood of petty merchants and revitalize the local economy. Today, Folk Flea Market is a traditional market where merchants from all over the country gather with a variety of goods that are actively traded here. Also, its adjacency to the nearby dawn market, which is open from 04:00 to 09:00 from April to December, makes it a popular market where people can purchase various goods at cheap prices. The market use fee is differentially charged depending on the occupied area from 1,000 won up to 5,000 won by the Cooperative of Folk Flea Market Merchants.
Usage information : The market opens on days ending with 2 and 7 in each month.
